Every employee has a duty of responsibility to protect data and adhere to the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act (1998) and related legislation for the holding, processing, storing and security of patient identifiable information. All staff have a duty of confidentiality to service users and colleagues in their daily work. This course aims to improve staff awareness of the issues that relate to confidentiality in order to protect all personal identifiable information, as well as ensure that all staff understand the legal aspects of confidentiality, data protection and information security and their professional responsibilities.
